Development of Tools for Coastal Management in Google Earth Engine: Uncertainty Bathtub Model and Bruun Rule

Sea-level rise is a problem increasingly affecting coastal areas worldwide. The existence of free and open-source models to estimate the sea-level impact can contribute improve management. This study aims develop validate two different predict supported by Google Earth Engine (GEE)—a cloud-based platform for planetary-scale environmental data analysis. first model Bathtub Model based on uncertainty projections module TerrSet—Geospatial Monitoring Modeling System software. validation process performed in Rio Grande do Sul plain (S Brazil) resulted correlations from 0.75 1.00. second uses Bruun rule formula implemented GEE determine coastline retreat profile creatting simple vector line topo-bathymetric data. shows very high correlation (0.97) with classical Aveiro coast (NW Portugal). Therefore, achieved results disclose that suitable perform these developed have been openly shared, enabling continuous improvement code scientific community.
